Shafiq is an Investment Director for the TELUS Pollinator Fund for Good, responsible for deal sourcing, overseeing due diligence, and investment process and portfolio of investments.

He brings over 15 years of global experience in banking, private equity, management consulting, and venture capital and was most recently with the Business Development Bank of Canada, where he was a Senior Partner in their Advisory practice focused on accelerating high growth businesses.

Shafiq is a graduate of the University of British Columbia with both a bachelor’s degree and MBA. He is an active angel investor and mentor in the Canadian venture ecosystem and resides in Toronto, but has called Vancouver home for most of his life.

Shafiq spends most of his spare time at the hockey rink as a coach, player, and advisor, but is also an avid runner, cyclist, snowboarder, and squash player.
